OUR STORY

In 2010, Dillsburg Farmers' Market began as a small, informal gathering of individual local vendors in the parking area adjacent to an antique shop to promote fresh, local, homegrown and homemade produce and products, with emphasis on producer market, as in grown and made by the farmers, growers and producers who are vendors, and local, meaning within 50 miles of Dillsburg.

In Nov. 2016, the market vendors organized as an official nonprofit entity with a vendor-led decision-making board and an independent financial handler. At a NEW location outside Dillsburg Senior Activity Center beginning in 2017, the market's number of full-time vendors increased from six (2010) to 12 (2019), plus numerous (14) additional guest and occasional vendors who add variety to each week's market, visiting on a rotating schedule through the season. The list of products has expanded as well, from heirloom tomatoes, farm-raised meat and poultry, mushrooms, free-range eggs to fruit, raw honey, baked goods, vegan and gluten-free goods, milk, sweet corn, milk, plants, perennials, herbs, and value-added products like jam, cider, salsa and soup, PA wines, homemade soap and brooms and everything in between - all produced on farms and in gardens and kitchens within 50 miles of the farmers' market.

Supporting neighbors is also a priority at our market, and throughout each season, "community guests" attend free of charge to share with customers:  displays, info, events, and services offered from their respective community organizations.

At the end of our 2019 season at the Dillsburg Senior Activity Center, we bid farewell and thanked them for hosting us for 3 years. We would make a move to a larger and historical location in our town.

Excited for our new location, Dill's Tavern, we decided to extended the 2019 fall season and called it Harvest Days.  However, 2020 was the first official full market season at Dill's Tavern, that year came with it's changes, challenges and accomplishment!

Our 15th season (2024) is as follows: each Saturday 8 am-12 noon, starting May 4  through November 30.
